Etiquette

Take a quarter, leave the rest. The rules that keep wild food wild.

The one rule that matters

Take a quarter, leave the rest. That's it. Wild food belongs to the hedge, the birds, and the next forager as much as it belongs to you.

The five rules

1 take a quarter, leave the rest
2 ask before you pick on private land
3 never uproot a whole plant
4 pick away from roads, dogs, and sprayed edges
5 if you can't name it 100%, leave it

Why it matters

A patch that gets stripped bare doesn't come back. Forage like you'll be here next year — because you will.
